Less is More
Less is more,
Flexible thinking to get your teams to deliver your services cheaper, simpler, faster – with better results
Budget cutbacks are on their way. You are going to have to make a decision on where to cut spending. And yet, you still want to deliver a great service.
How can you do to manage this with the minimum of pain or impact on your performance?
What if these cutbacks could provide an opportunity to do things differently? Get you to try new ideas or seize opportunities that are already around you – so you achieve more with less?
Instead of next year’s activity being a sub standard version of your status quo – ‘things-you-did-this-year minus 5-10%’ – what if you could deliver most of your activity simply/faster/cheaper to give you new resource, to do things possibly better, or even create some new awesome ideas.
‘Less is More’ is a comprehensive yet fast working session specially designed for public service staff, and others, to ensure they avoid a siege mentality, a downward spiral of lower motivation, and a rigid, negative mindset.
The session boosts your team’s abilities to be more resourceful, look at things differently, think flexibly, and think flexibly faster – to be better prepared for the challenges they face.
‘Less is More’ is a quick, easily do-able programme – delivered in just one day. There’s also the opportunity to do the session with other local partners to build closer links and find new ways of doing.
Your team will work through 7 proven strategies, with a world-leading creativity expert, to provide ‘new ways’ of meeting your demanding goals with less resources.
The one-day session generates new energy and sense of purpose for your team members, sparks new ideas, can build stronger local partnerships, and provides a sustainable legacy for future working.
The session has been honed, and tested with local public service providers to address your major key work issues while offering first-class, yet affordable, training and development. So even though your team members may be out of the office, they are still working on live work issues.
You can either do a session with your own team, or use ‘Less is More’ as an opportunity to do a session with your local public service partners to share the low costs, build closer ties and relationships.
The session can be delivered for just £75 per participant (assuming 10 delegates x 2 sessions per day).
One part of the day’s work assignments can feature your team members working on a common problem or issue, which will then be included in a national public service IdeasBank to provide inspiration, insight and new ideas for colleagues throughout the UK.
Through doing a one day ‘Less is More’ session you will:
- Establish new ways of working to deliver your services on smaller budgets
- Identify key issues and priorities – focus on key tasks and opportunities to make a difference
- Cut down on waste and unproductive activities
- Develop more flexible, creative, and resourceful responses to your challenges
- Overcome a negative ‘Cuts = Siege Mentality’, mindset
- Motivate your staff to face up to be resourceful during these difficult economic times
- Strengthen your team and build stronger local partnerships.
- Make innovation a norm in your team
- Promote shared learning among public services across the UK.
- Potentially create some awesome new ideas
